Glossary

CNC Milling
A machining process where a rotating cutting tool (mill) removes material from a workpiece clamped on the machine table. Metal One uses both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling with tolerances of ±0.01 mm.
CNC Turning
A machining process where the workpiece rotates while a fixed cutting tool removes material. Suited for rotational parts such as shafts, bushings, or flanges.
Grinding
A finishing operation where a grinding wheel removes a thin layer of material to achieve a precise dimension and low surface roughness.
Engraving
A process for creating a permanent mark (text, logo, serial number) on a part surface, typically for identification or branding purposes.
Chip-Removal Machining
A collective term for manufacturing processes that shape a part by progressively removing material in the form of chips - including milling, turning, and grinding.
Tolerance
The maximum permitted deviation of a part dimension from the value specified on the drawing. Metal One achieves ±0.01 mm as standard, up to ±0.005 mm for special applications.
Prototype Manufacturing
Production of one or a few units of a part before series production begins, to verify dimensions, functionality, and assembly fit.

What tolerances can you achieve in CNC machining?
Our CNC machines achieve tolerances of ±0.01 mm for both series and prototype parts. For special applications, tolerances down to ±0.005 mm are possible.
What materials can you machine?
We machine aluminium, structural steel, stainless steel, brass, titanium and technical plastics — over 20 materials in total.
What is the lead time for CNC parts?
Standard lead time is 3–14 working days depending on complexity and quantity. Express production is available for urgent orders.
How much does CNC machining cost in Slovakia?
CNC machining costs depend on part complexity, material and quantity. Metal One provides quotes within 24 hours of receiving your drawing.
Where can I find a CNC machining shop near Trenčín?
Metal One s.r.o. is located in Ladce near Trenčín, Slovakia. We deliver CNC parts across the EU.
How long does CNC parts production take?
Standard lead time is 3 to 14 working days depending on complexity. Express production is available for urgent orders.
What batch sizes can you handle?
We produce from 1 piece up to 10,000 pieces — from one-off prototypes and small batches to medium-volume series production.
What file formats do you accept for 3D models and drawings?
STEP is our standard for 3D models. We also accept DWG, DXF and IGES. Digital files speed up production setup and minimise the risk of errors.
Do you make prototypes?
Yes, we make prototypes on request — ideal before starting series production to verify the dimensions and function of the part.
Do you have a quality certificate?
We are currently working on quality system certification. For every order we follow strict inspection procedures and tolerances down to ±0.01 mm.
